Police investigate Blackfriars Street 'paedophile ring' ... Did jailed child rapist David Scott run a network of abusers? ... Eight-year-old girl was 'sold' by the ex-soldier to five other men in flat near Edinburgh's Royal Mile ... Victims urge detectives to trace the gang and bring them to justice

A FORMER soldier jailed for sexually abusing six girls is being investigated over claims he operated a paedophile ring in the centre of Edinburgh. David Scott, 60, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for a reign of terror spanning 45 years. But one victim has told police that in 2010 Scott took her to a flat in Blackfriars Street where five other men also abused her. The girl, who was aged eight at the time, says she saw the men give Scott envelopes containing cash in the dingy flat just off the Royal Mile. The teenager's explosive claims of a paedophile ring are being investigated by Police Scotland detectives. A relative of the girl, who cannot be named, said: “ We know that Scott is an absolute monster but I am certain these five men also abused her and they must be identified and brought to justice. “I will do everything I can to find out who these men are. It is likely they are still out there which means that other children could be at risk. ” Scott

BETRAYED: Laura Lunn was aged 7 when she was first raped by David Scott ... Three years later she reported the abuse to police ... Ex-soldier Scott had already targeted other girls but police did not speak to them until two decades later ... The 'monster' has only now been brought to justice for abusing six girls over 45 years

A SURVIVOR of a serial paedophile has waived her right to anonymity to allege that he should have been brought to justice when she first reported him to police 21 years ago. Former soldier David Scott, 60, abused and raped “ generations of girls ” in Edinburgh before being jailed for 12 years in May. But 30-year-old Laura Lunn believes that he could have been stopped in 1997 when she reported her abuse to police. Police Scotland say that “ predator ” Scott was “ fully investigated ” at the time. They claim that he was not prosecuted due to “ lack of corroboration ”. Laura was first targeted by family friend Scott at the age of seven. She describes him as “ an absolute monster ” and “ evil ”. Over the following three years, he repeatedly raped and abused her — and threatened to kill her mother if she ever told anyone. When Laura was 10, the abuse came to light after she wrote a letter to her mum telling her that she was unhappy. At the time, numerous oth

Police Scotland admit confidential witness statements and other evidence has somehow VANISHED but they do not want to talk about it

A POKER playing friend of Frankie ‘ Donuts ’ Donaldson will not stand trial for allegedly stalking a domestic violence victim after the evidence vanished from Police Scotland. Tony Girasoli, 57, was accused of perverting the course of justice and stalking Jane Clarke in a bid to stop her testifying against her violent ex-partner Donaldson. Ex-professional poker player Girasoli first appeared in court two years ago but in April police discovered that five original witness statement and other evidence had gone missing. They admitted to Jane that the material, including allegedly threatening text messages, disappeared from their possession and launched a probe. One of the missing statements is thought to have been from Jane's solicitor who allegedly overheard Girasoli during a phone call. The evidence file was last thought to have been in the possession of a high ranking officer  —  but police bosses refuse to discuss the exact circumstances. The Crown Office vowed

SCOTLAND’S biggest bankrupt has been forced to abandon his £5million Spanish mansion which was seized to pay some of his debts. Gregory King, 49, has returned to Glasgow after his trustee Adrian Hyde took control of the stunning hilltop home overlooking Marbella. The house in the Costa del Sol’s exclusive La Zagaleta enclave has been sold for €5.7million (£5.11m). Hyde is now attempting to obtain a neighbouring mansion previously occupied by King’s bookmaker dad Hugh King, 77, and worth at least as much. Hyde, a partner with CVR Global , said: “ When we took possession of the house, Mr King appears to have left in a hurry as it was full of paperwork, clothing and other personal effects.  It was almost as if they had simply left on holiday but never returned.  “There were two cars in the driveway and one of his many Harley Davidson motorbikes in the garage. “The house was owned by a Spanish company with a Gibraltar parent company which in turn was owned by Mr Ki
